Sarah March, LMHC, CASAC Advanced has been practicing mental health counseling in residential substance use disorder treatment for over 10 years. She is the program director of a mother and child residence that focuses on treating addiction through a family systems, trauma-informed, gender responsive lens. For the past six years she has supervised and overseen implementation and development of a SAMHSA-funded pregnant & parenting women service grant within a New York State Office of Addiction Services and Support licensed treatment facility focusing on providing care to pregnant and parenting women diagnosed with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders & their families. She has specialty interest and training in working with traumatized forensic populations and justice involved individuals and families, trauma informed care and gender specific interventions. She holds a masters degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from the City University of New York John Jay College of Criminal Justice and is a licensed mental health counselor and credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor with advanced designation in the state of New York.
