Session Description: In this presentation we explore how intergenerational trauma is a form of “Complex Trauma” involving the transference of wounding from one generation to the next via direct transmission of biological stress encoded in the genes of future generations leading to a child being predisposed to certain biological sensitivities. We also explore Individual, Familial, and Cultural Survival Patterns rooted in shame, guilt, self-hatred, self-rejection, etc., that impact the quality of a secure attachment bond with children

Compare and contrast impact of intergenerational trauma among different populations in behavioral health treatment.
Understand the importance and vulnerability of the attachemnt years
based on early brain development and the effects of developmental trauma
Assess personal experience while treating and understanding how trauma impacts the brain, child development, and life functioning.
